Piping system for a chemical process

Deswarte was engaged by a manufacturer of starch and sugar to develop a piping system via a 3D scan to facilitate a chemical process while the product is passed through it.

The piping system is 240 metres long and is composed of 40 pipes, each which is about 6 metres long. To create a labyrinth, bends are bolted to each side of the pipes. The idea is to determine what is needed to get the process going by making adjustments to the length of these pipes . Twisting the bends enables the distance travelled by the product to be shortened or lengthened.
